Welcome to VIPs Vision Support Group

My name is Debbie Carruthers. I'm a volunteer with Vision Australia and coordinator of the VIPs support group.

As stated in the “About” section on this website, the VIPs group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:30am to 12pm at the Bairnsdale RSL. It’s free to join. You are welcome to bring along a carer or support worker. The purpose of the group is to share information, network, provide a social outing and help members navigate vision loss. We have a raffle which is optional to participate and costs $1/ticket. Proceeds from the raffle go into the VIPs bank account, with members deciding how the money is used.

Immediately following the meeting, most members stay for lunch at the bistro in the RSL, which is at their own cost. This provides another informal way of continuing the social connection and information sharing.
